In the majority of the first half Hythe had pinned the magpies back in their own half. They had taken an early lead when a defensive mistake let James Moorish in. The half was quite a physical battle with Hythe win a lot of the first ball and sending in several crosses combined with some good runs to keep Haven back.
Just before the half time break an inswinging corner was met by Sam Gargan to head down and just inside the post to send the visitors in level.
The second half saw Peacehaven have the upper edge. A tweak in the style of play led to the Magpies gaining the advantage in the middle of the park and freed up players to get back to a passing game.
Peacehaven created a number of chances for Walker, Burton and Gargan with Jones and Metcalfe all having chances but we couldn't find the back of the net. Richards did well to put Hythe's Shaun Welford off just enough for to make him lift the ball onto the ba. Again Di Bernado made an number of good saves and Hythe's Dan Eason pulled off a fine save from a great Burton header.
Peacehaven's second again came from a corner and found Gargan at the back post whose header went in off the underside of the bar.
The game continued to flow well for Peacehaven although Hythe had a couple of opportunities to equalise but Peacehaven were able to deal with them.
