Peacehaven put one hand on the trophy last night as their impressive performances continue..

Peacehaven were helped a little in the first half with Horsham's keeper having a wobble. Horsham came out of the blocks firing and created several good chances in the early stages but were unable to convert them. Peacehaven countered and a high ball floated just outside the Horsham area. The keeper came out to head the ball cleared. He mistimed his header and it landed just in front of Tom Lawley. With his back to goal he promptly hooked the ball over his and everyone elses to send the ball bouncing into the unguarded net for 1-0.

Horsham continued to play dome good attacking football but could not make the final ball through the Peacehaven defence. Towards the end of the first half the ball dropped to Tom Lawley about 35 yards out he smashed the ball goalwards. It was travelling at some pace but straight at the goalkeeper who opened his hands too wide and let the ball straight through him for 2-0.

Tom then took a heavy challenge that looked like it might have caused a nasty injury but to everyone's relief it was not as bad as first thought.

The second half started with Horsham looking for an early goal but it was Peacehaven who scored again. Horsham failed to clear a cross which pinged around the area and ended at Sam gargans feet on the back post for him to drill the ball home for 3-0.

Ben Godfrey making his debut and Jamie Brotherton came on for Gargan and Josh Jones. Brotherton shortly after coming on played Walker through to net the fourth and seal the points. Horsham were tiring but continued to create chances and eventually near the finish Death thundered a shot into the top corner for 4-1.

The magpies now need one or two wins depending on Leatherhead's results to seal the title having gained a minimum of 2nd place last night.
