Chipstead started brightly rejuvenated by new manager Steve Baker held Peacehaven back for the first 20 minutes and looked the more likely to score.
An early foul looked like it had been committed on Craig Richards but the ref deemed the challenge fair. Richards tried to defend from the floor but the low cross hit his arm and the ref booked him for handball.
Peacehaven were forced into a counter attacking pattern and against the run of play one proved important a through ball allowed Marzetti to break away to the corner flag and the cut inside as he reached the box. Walker then cam inside his marker to slot in the cross from the edge of the six yard box.
This goal took the wind out of the sales of Chipstead and allowed Peacehaven to get into their stride. Both sides had chances but no one could take advantage. A few more bookings followed in what was really not a physical game.
Early in the second half the ref blew for a foul on the half way line and gave Craig Richards a second yellow. This led to Walker leaving the field and being replaced by Josh Jones.
Peacehaven then dropped deeper to contain the buoyed Chips. For 20 minutes all went well before their Josh Gallagher hit a screamer that looped up over Di Bernado and dipped down into the net.
The last 5 minutes saw both teams try to grab a winner Jamie Brotherton was finding success and with Peacehaven needing to defend deeply Chipstead had a good shot saved and a header that went narrowly wide. Brothertons cross looked like it may have found Burton or Lawley but they couldn't quite get it out from their feet to strike the ball.
A fair result based on how the game panned out and Peacehaven are now 2nd facing leaders Walton Casuals at Piddinghoe Avenue next Saturday. The U18s hope to continue their winning run at home on Monday night.
