Eastbourne haven't had the best of starts to this new campaign and are in the process of renewal under a new manager.
Peacehaven had much of the first half and had several chances and surely should have gone in three goals up. As it was Jamie Brotherton scored the only goal of the half to make it 0-1 to Peacehaven after 17 minutes.
The second half continued in the same fashion but Eastbourne Town won a late penalty to try and salvage a point. With a penalty well struck low to di Bernado's left he was able to reach out and palm it away much to the Magpies relief.
Eastbourne were then made to pay for the miss as Peacehaven quickly added a second, again from Brotherton.
The game finished 0-2 to Peacehaven allowing them to end their August league campaign in a comfortable 9th with 9 points on the board. Compared to previous Sussex clubs performance in their first year after promotion this feels as good as being top of the league.
On Saturday we are visited by Ashford United who are having a great start to their league campaign and are unbeaten so far in the newly named South Eastern Counties (formerly Kent) league, equivalent to Sussex County one.
