Peacehaven's terrible home form continued on Saturday as they fell to a fifth defeat of the season.

In what had been seen as a must win match they emerged with nothing, and in the process fell to ten points off the promotion pace.

It is a baffling situation, with a squad which grows stronger by the week, and excellent away form, that they are so vulnerable on their own ground. There was a large element of bad luck involved in the manner of defeat, but they were again unconvincing against mid-table opposition, and apart from a brief spell in the second half never looked like claiming all three points.

One of the major problems for Sean Saunders is an ever changing line up. Peacehaven have already used thirty two players this season, and there were two more new signings on view. Chamal Fenellon lined up against one of his many former clubs, and Connor Saunders, who started the season at Piddinghoe Avenue before joining Crawley Down, became the latest player to make the return journey. Unfortunately he was without Carl Dunk and Aaron Gunn, both injured, and the suspended Ryan Bradley.

Three Bridges have yet again had a disappointing start to their season, but arrived in good form, and looked threatening from the start. Their attack was spearheaded by the explosive Abub Touray, and his pace was a huge threat to the home defence.
It was Touray who put the visitors ahead after nine minutes. He picked up on a misjudged a long ball out of defence, and the pace of Touray took him through to slot past Joe Adams. There was an audible groan as Peacehaven had yet again given themselves a mountain to climb.

The first half was largely even, with neither side able to carve out clear opportunities. Wes Millis and Scott Marshall both had long range efforts for Peacehaven, whilst at the other end Touray proved a constant menace.

Peacehaven came on strong after half time, and finally started to exert some concerted pressure. Most of their best play was coming down the right, where Owen Callaghan was getting the better of Danny Medhurst and it was from the right that the equalising goal came. Harry Coker's cross was met by centre back Andy Howard, whose header cannoned off the bar into his own net.

Finally Peacehaven had got a break, and they pushed forward in search of a winner. They almost got it when Callaghan's cross picked out Rob O'Toole, but he was unable to keep his header down with the goal gaping.

Then disaster struck. Lee Carney was chasing a long ball, more in hope than expectation, when Adams slipped, and presented the midfielder with an almost open goal. The angle was against Carney, but he showed great composure to play in Touray for the simplest of finishes.
It was a shattering blow for Peacehaven, and one from which they were unable to recover.
