Peacehaven ventured to Champion Hill to face one of the leagues title contenders...

This was always going to be a tough test and Peacehaven equipped themselves well in what was a very good football match but Dulwich's extra quality in the final product showed as they gained all three points.

The first half was entertaining and fairly much without significant incident as both teams tussled over possession in midfield. Dulwich had the greater of the play but Peacehaven defence proved solid.

It took until the 37th minute for Dulwich to break the deadlock. An excellent shot was met by an equally save by Di Bernado, diving to his right, but he could do nothing as Nyren Clunis's diving header redirected the ball into the empty net. In a rare foul Lloyd Cotton and a Hamlet player were both booked for a bit of a tussle over the ball. HT 1-0

The second half Dulwich made several substitutions and Peacehaven came into the game much more as Dulwich sat back. A number of chances were created which created shots for Lawley, Jones, Agnoly and Burton but these were all blocked. With the clock ticking away and Peacehaven looking like they may find an equaliser a break away by Dulwich left Ash Jones to deal with a dangerous situation and he had to make an attempted challenge which led to a yellow card. The free kick from 25 yards curled high over the wall and nestled in the top corner from Ashley Carew and effectively sealed the points.

Peacehaven continued to press forward but again on the break Dulwich this time had a spot of luck as a well struck shot looked to be covered by Di Bernado struck a defender and was diverted in the opposite direction for 3-0. With the last few kicks of the game El-Abd flicked a cross over Dulwich's keeper for 3-1.

Dulwich being the better team deserved the win but Peacehaven have proved they can stay with the stronger league candidates and despite the result took much from the performance. Both teams were cheered off the pitch by the 500 plus supporters.
