Lloyd sets Haven on their way

Lloyd (pictured) opened the scoring in the 24th minute when with his back to goal spun and got his shot away to give Haven the lead.

Peacehaven only held the lead for five minutes before Crowborough equalised after a defensive slip.

Just six minutes before the break, defender Brandon Kilula put the hosts ahead with a determined headed finish.

With the clock approaching half time the visitors thought they’d equalised as Haven hacked the ball off the line and clear.

The visitors threw everything at Peacehaven but Haven’s defence stood firm.

And then in the 72nd Josh Marshall made it 3-2 after Matt Cheeseman’s effort rebounded off the post.

In the second minute of time added on Crowborough did pull one back from the spot.

Final score: Peacehaven & Telscombe 3, Crowborough 2.

In the third round of the competition, Peacehaven will be away to Saltdean Utd.
