THIS Saturday sees Peacehaven & Telscombe face Glebe Utd at home in the first round of the FA Vase.

With the international break taking place this weekend and the Premier League and Championship suspended, this is the time for non-league clubs across the country to step into the spotlight.

On Saturday Peacehaven are at home to Glebe Utd from the Southern Counties East Premier League – a step five league the same as the Southern Combination Premier League which Peacehaven play in.

Glebe, who are managed by former Millwall stalwart Gary Alexander who took over in September, are currently in eighth place in their league with 16 points from eight games having won five, drawn one and lost two.

To get to this stage of the competition, United defeated Guildford City away 3-0 in the Extra Preliminary Round and K Sports away in the Preliminary Round by the same score.

Meanwhile Peacehaven defeated Steyning Town after a replay in the extra preliminary round and beat Spelthorne Sports 3-2 in the preliminary round.

As well as shining the spotlight on the 40,000 or so semi-professional and amateur teams across the country, Non-League Day also supports Prostate Cancer UK and at Saturday’s game you’ll have the chance to make a contribution to this worthwhile charity.

Entry is £7 for adults, £5 for over 65s and under 18s get in for free. The game kicks-off at 3pm and extra time will be played should it be necessary.

Don’t forget, if you’re a season ticket holder, this game is not covered by your season ticket.

The clubhouse and snack bar will be open with Sue's sensational award winning triple fried chips top choice of the day.
